May 23, 2021 – Reseda, California: A street racing crash killed one and injured five along the 7600 block of Corbin Avenue on Sunday, May 23 around 8 p.m. in Reseda. The crash was caught on a nearby home security camera, showing a fire erupted immediately after. No names regarding those involved have been released.

According to Los Angeles police, a BMW was speeding on Corbin Avenue when the driver lost control and crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with another vehicle.

The BMW driver, believed to be a 25 to 30-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene and has not been identified. Another person was trapped inside one of the vehicles and had to be extricated. The extent of the injuries of the other people involved are unknown at this time.

Los Angeles police say the crash was likely caused by street racing which killed one and injured five people. Due to the high rate of speed and subsequent collision, a part of one vehicle’s engine block separated from the vehicle completely and ended up on the street.

Video footage from the nearby home security camera showed a pickup truck alongside three mangled vehicles and another pickup on its two front wheels, backed onto a street pole. There was also debris spread across the street.
